  Frankie’s Italian Restaurant, Rockmart, Georgia

Located in downtown Rockmart, Georgia, Frankie's Italian Restaurant is the only labeled Italian restaurant in Rockmart.  On East Church Street near Eby-Brown Trucking Company, Frankie's is in a small shopping area with a coffee shop, pharmacy, hair salon, and other stores. Frankie's Italian Restaurant is open for business from Wednesday to Sunday.  Each day of operation, the restaurant opens at 11 a.m. Closing times vary for each day (Wednesday and Thursday at 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 9 p.m, and Sunday at 3 p.m.).

            Frankie's is extremely unique.  Like the adjacent buildings, above Frankie's restaurant, there are loft apartments.  Also, where Frankie's Italian Restaurant is now, the Silver Comet Trail Bicycle Shop once was.  Just think about that when you are eating your spaghetti and sipping your sweet tea!

            The environment is very dark and romantic-like. The lights are typically turned down low, but don't expect the servers to be slow or nonexistent. Often, Frankie, the owner, will escort your food to the table and ask if she can get you anything. The walls of the restaurant are red brick in the front and flat, sheet rock in the back.   In the back of the restaurant, you can read all of the signatures of happy visitors, fulfilled eaters, and proud Italian lovers. You can even sign your name if you want. Worried that your party won't fit?  Have no fear. Frankie's Italian Restaurant has a private, encolsed dining area that can accommodate about thirty people.

            Like all Italian restaurants, Frankie's Italian Restaurants has the usual Italian dishes.  Spaghetti, Rigatoni, Lasagna, pizza, calzones, and strombolis are among the many Italian dishes on the menu.  My favorite dish is the chicken parmesan, which comes with a salad and endless bread sticks. Fettuccini Alfredo, baked chicken dishes, and tortellini are also very good dishes to try out if you are unsure of what to order.

            A mini pizza, spaghetti, grilled cheese, and half turkey or ham sub are available on the children's menu.  Despite there only being two desserts on the menu, the cannoli (with a plain or chocolate shell) and cheesecake are always tasty, delicious, and enjoyable.  Wine and beer are available at this establishment.
